Dance has a positive and direct impact on our minds, freeing us to express ourselves, helping us maintain a positive attitude, and boosting our energy. Through dancing in a variety of styles from popular to classical and dancing to all different genres of music, we expand our creativity with dance improvisation.
In this class, our physical focus leads to improved coordination, flexibility, muscle tone, and balance; these activities address the importance of being fully present in the moment. Participants will experience the basic elements of dance – shape, rhythmic flow, and breath – to enhance their connections to self and others.
Dance attire for this class:
- Wear comfortable clothing and dance shoes or sneakers.
NOTE: This class will be held in person, but participants can attend virtually if they choose. If attending in person, please bring your own yoga mat. If you are attending virtually, set up a small space to move in, and have a yoga mat and a straight-back chair available.
