Musical Stepping Stones is the next level of music making in Hochstein's popular FUNdamental classes for young children. This lively active class will develop musical concepts through playful exploration, music making, and movement – fostering an appreciation of music.
The class will include an exploration of beats and rhythm, an introduction to instruments in the orchestra (using Peter and the Wolf as an example), note reading exercises, and how to create your own music.
In addition to the in-person classes, there will be video lessons recorded with a singing component for families to practice and sing safely together at home.
Students will need to follow Hochstein’s COVID-19 safety guidelines, which include wearing a mask and staying 6 feet apart.
Materials: Music Instrument Kits will be provided for each registered family. Kits will be provided at the first class.
FEE for Music FUNdamentals classes: $20 registration fee. $252* yearly tuition (prorated), payable in quarterly installments of $126.
For students enrolled in individual lessons at Hochstein, tuition is $126 (prorated), payable in quarterly installments of $63 for one Music FUNdamentals or Children’s Dance class. (Fees are as of Fall 2020.)
