Early Start Guitar

Ages 5-9

Lessons are arranged by consultation with the Dean’s Office

NOTE: Individual early start guitar lessons may be conducted in-person per Hochstein’s reopening plan; however, group classes will take place online. To find out more about the technical requirements for online instruction, click here.

Hochstein’s unique guitar program takes children from first notes to solo and ensemble performances. Musicianship skills that include singing and note reading, as well as guitar technique, are built through a child-friendly repertoire. Individual 30-minute lessons are supplemented by a 50-minute group class. Let us advise you about obtaining an appropriate instrument for your child. Please call (585) 454-4596.

Fee: $20 registration fee. $34* fee per half-hour lesson (includes the group class). Schedules and fees are arranged by appointment with the Dean’s Office. With enrollment in Early Start Guitar, families pay $63 per quarter for one Music FUNdamentals or Children’s Dance class, and reduced fees for Choir or other ensembles. (Fees are as of Fall 2020.)
