Early Start Guitar

Ages 5-9

Hochstein’s unique guitar program takes children from first notes to solo and ensemble performances. Musicianship skills that include singing and note reading, as well as guitar technique, are built through a child-friendly repertoire. Individual 30-minute lessons are supplemented by a 50-minute group class. Lessons are arranged by consultation with the Dean’s Office

Group classes are available for beginning, continuing, and intermediate-level students.

The Early Start Guitar program involves three participants: the parent/caregiver, the teacher, and the child. Each participant is an active member of the learning process and the parent attends the lesson and group class with their child.

Let us advise you about obtaining an appropriate instrument for your child. Please call 585.454.4596.

Fee: $20 registration fee. $38* fee per half-hour lesson (includes the group class). Schedules and fees are arranged by consultation with the Dean’s Office. (Fees are as of Fall 2024.)

With enrollment in Early Start Guitar, families pay a discounted rate for one Music FUNdamentals or Children’s Dance class, and reduced fees for Choir or other ensembles.
