For the Joy of Ballet

Do you love the art of ballet and enjoy dance, but are a teen or adult either just beginning your dance journey, returning to dance study after a hiatus, or augmenting your dance training with another style? Then, check out our Beginning and Intermediate Ballet classes.

Beginning/Intermediate Ballet

Mondays, 7:15-8:45 pm
age 13+

 

This class introduces students to the basics of the Russian (Vaganova) ballet technique through barre work and preparation for pirouettes, adagios, and allegro movements. Also covered are the basics of ballet vocabulary and technique. Great for developing flexibility, strength, coordination, musicality, and grace.

 

Fee: $20 registration fee; $180* per quarter (9-week session). For students enrolled in individual lessons at Hochstein, the reduced tuition is $135 per quarter.

Full year tuition is $720* payable in quarterly installments of $180 per 9-week session or the reduced fee of $540 payable in quarterly installments of $135. (Fees are as of Fall 2024.)

Start anytime! Tuition will be prorated accordingly if enrolling after the start date.

Intermediate Ballet

Wednesdays, 7:00-8:30 pm

Saturdays, 11:45 am-1:15 pm
ages 13-adult

 

A continuing focus on the Russian (Vaganova) Technique at the intermediate level.

Dance Savings!

Take one Ballet or other dance styles class at full tuition, get a second (or more) Ballet, other dance styles, or Wellness class at 50% off! 50% discount applies to the lower tuition fee.

Dance attire for these classes:

  • Pink footed or convertible tights (usually recommended for females)
  • OR black footed or convertible tights (usually recommended for males)
  • Solid colored leotard (usually recommended for females)
  • OR solid light or white t-shirt (usually recommended for males)
  • Ballet slippers
  • NO street shoes on the marley floor
  • Hair pulled back (long hair in a bun)
  • No excessive jewelry
  • No footless tights or leotards with skirts
  • Adults: dance skirt permitted
