Suggested grades 1-5, NYSSMA Level 2-3 or Suzuki Book III who can demonstrate sight-reading proficiency.
Audition required; Director will accept new members throughout the year.
PLEASE NOTE: Hochstein orchestras will be rehearsing in-person beginning October 10, 2020
- Concertino Strings will be allowed to meet in-person. Please stay tuned for specific details which will be sent to our students by the directors.
- Students will be asked to follow safety guidelines and expectations while in the building. Everyone entering Hochstein will be required to wear a mask when they are in the building.
- Parents/guardians are expected to leave the building during most orchestra rehearsals after dropping off their student. (One parent/guardian may attend rehearsal with each student in Concertino Strings)
This first step in Hochstein’s comprehensive Orchestral Program is designed for violin, viola, cello, and bass students who can demonstrate beginning sight-reading proficiency. Come and explore team music-making as we study orchestral performance and bowing skills. Students will also work on learning to play as a section and following the conductor.

Fee: $10 registration fee; $432* yearly tuition, payable in quarterly installments of $108 each. For students enrolled in individual lessons at Hochstein, yearly tuition is $372 payable in quarterly installments of $93. (Fees are as of Fall 2020.)
