Tuition Assistance

Limited tuition assistance is available for all programs of study to those who qualify, based on household income. 

Students requiring tuition assistance in order to enroll in any program at Hochstein may apply for the sliding fee scale through the Dean’s Office. Verification of household income and completion of a tuition assistance application is due prior to registration.

Registration for Summer at Hochstein

Monday, July 10 - Friday, August 18, 2023

For Individual Instruction:

  • Click here to fill out our online Individual Lesson Registration Request form.
  • The form is meant as an initial contact with our school when asking about individual lessons for yourself or your child. This form can be used by both current students at Hochstein as well as students enrolling for the first time. If you have questions, email frontoffice@hochstein.org or call 585.454.4596.
  • After receipt of the form, email correspondence or phone consultation with a member of our Dean staff will finalize the arrangement. 
  • There is a $15 non-refundable registration fee per student (maximum 2 per family). Checks or money orders should be made payable to The Hochstein School.  We also accept MasterCard, Visa, Discover, and American Express. We do not accept cash.
  • The $15 summer registration fee is waived for students enrolled in individual lessons and classes during the 2022-2023 school year.

For Music and Dance Classes, Ensembles, Workshops, and Camps: 

  • For those wishing to register online, click here for ActiveNet, our online registration system.

  • Please submit registration form along with $15 registration fee and entire tuition payment at the time of registration.

  • REGISTER EARLY! Early registration is encouraged. Some camps and classes may have limited space. For Arts In Action, please register at least one week before the first day of the session(s) you plan to attend.
  • Please note that information about summer camps and classes will continue to be updated on the website as offerings become finalized - check back for more details.

The School is open from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm for rescheduled lessons on Tuesday, August 22.



The Hochstein School reserves the right to cancel any class due to insufficient enrollment. A full refund, including registration fees, will be made to those enrolled in a class canceled by the School. Students will be charged for classes that occur prior to cancellation.

About Online Classes

Online instruction with Hochstein is easy! In order to get started, you will need the following:

  • A tablet, laptop, desktop, smartphone, or other electronic device with a camera and a microphone
  • Reliable internet connection in your home; WiFi or an ethernet connection are recommended as they are faster than cellphone service
  • Your instrument of choice – voice included!

Once you are registered, your instructor will work with you to determine the best online platform. Currently, Hochstein instructors are using Zoom, Skype, Google Meet, Discord, and Facetime.
