Registration for Summer at Hochstein

Monday, July 6 - Friday, August 14, 2020


For Individual Instruction:

  • Fill out the Online Lesson Inquiry Form by clicking here. The form is meant as an initial contact with our school when asking about individual lessons for yourself or your child. If you have questions, email frontoffice@hochstein.org or call 585.454.4596.
  • After receipt of the form, a phone consultation with a member of our Dean staff will finalize the arrangement. 
  • Please provide $10 non-refundable registration fee per student (maximum 2 per family) plus $31 tuition deposit per student by check, money order, or MasterCard, Visa, Discover, American Express. Checks or money orders should be made payable to The Hochstein School. We do not accept cash. 
  • The $10 summer registration fee is waived for students enrolled in individual lessons and classes during the 2019-2020 school year.


For Music and Dance Classes, Ensembles, Workshops, and Camps (other than those requiring an audition), register by mail or online at www.hochstein.org/summer

  • Please submit registration form along with $10 registration fee and entire tuition payment at the time of registration. For those wishing to register online, go to our online registration system at the following address and be sure to select “Summer 2020” as your primary filter: 
  • Checks or money orders should be made payable to The Hochstein School. Hochstein also accepts MasterCard, Visa, Discover, and American Express. Hochstein does not accept cash.
  • REGISTER EARLY! Early registration is encouraged to help ensure enrollment in the desired session(s). For optimum placement, we suggest you return registrations by Monday, June 15. For Arts In Action, please register at least one week before the first day of the session(s) you plan to attend.


Limited tuition assistance is available for all programs of study to those who qualify, based on household income. 

Students requiring tuition assistance in order to enroll in any program at Hochstein may apply for the sliding fee scale through the Dean’s Office. Verification of household income and completion of a tuition assistance application is due prior to registration.

The Hochstein School reserves the right to cancel any class due to insufficient enrollment. A full refund, including registration fees, will be made to those enrolled in a class canceled by the School. Students will be charged for classes that occur prior to cancellation.


About Online Classes

Online instruction with Hochstein is easy! In order to get started, you will need the following:

  • A tablet, laptop, desktop, smartphone, or other electronic device with a camera and a microphone
  • Reliable internet connection in your home; WiFi or an ethernet connection are recommended as they are faster than cellphone service
  • Your instrument of choice – voice included!

Once you are registered, your instructor will work with you to determine the best online platform. Currently, Hochstein instructors are using Zoom, Skype, Google Meet, Discord, and Facetime.

Worry-free Summer Enrollment

At Hochstein, we understand that it’s difficult to plan ahead during these uncertain times.

One thing we DO know is that Summer is right around the corner! We want to let you know that you can easily plan for your summer of music or dance – or both – by taking advantage of our Worry-Free Enrollment plan.

What does that mean? Enrolling now under our Worry-Free Enrollment plan will mean that you can:

  • Ensure guaranteed placement in your favorite camps, classes, or lessons
  • Cancel your enrollment with no additional fees right up to two business days before the start of your camp, class, or workshop *
  • Transfer your enrollment by choosing online summer options or enrolling for Fall 2020

While we cannot predict the future – oh how we wish we could! – we can say that whatever the summer may bring, we will have options available to make your summertime an exciting one filled with music and dance.

* cancellation date for the first week will be Wednesday, July 2 because of the holiday weekend.
