Welcome from the Hochstein Singers Director

Welcome to the Hochstein Singers!

Hochstein Singers is made up of our older Hochstein Youth Singers (Grade 6-12) who want to sing even MORE and be additionally challenged. Hochstein Singers take a snack break for 30 minutes after Youth Singers’ rehearsals, then come back to work together from 11:30-12:30. I have much higher individual expectations for this ensemble.  Of course, I want each Hochstein Singers to expect more of themselves, too.  They learn more difficult music.  They also perform at a higher level.  Oh, and they “PARTY” more, to boot!

I KNOW that our whole Hochstein Youth Singers program is a success because our older singers are a part of BOTH ensembles. They are the “rocks” - the leaders and the models for our younger Hochstein Youth Singers. When singers stay longer each Saturday and join Hochstein Singers too, they grow into friends and colleagues with each other. I LOVE to watch Hochstein Singers morph into a comfortable family unto itself! It’s not unusual now for a singer to stay in our Youth Singers’ family for nine or more years. That’s a testimony in itself to the power of a successful program, and I’m PROUD to be a part of that!
