Summer Early Start Guitar

Ages 5-9

Lessons are arranged by consultation with the Dean’s Office.

Playful characters and original stories and games teach note names, techniques, and songs designed to share our love of music.

Early Start programs allow the younger student to experience the thrill of individualized instruction, while building the foundation of coordination and healthy technique within a specialized curriculum. Early Start faculty members have extensive experience and interest in teaching younger students.

Children should begin on an appropriately sized (½ or ¾) classical guitar. For advice on obtaining an instrument for your child, please call 585.454.4596.

The half-hour lesson is supplemented by a weekly, 50-minute group class.

Fee: $20 registration fee; $37* fee per half-hour lesson (includes the group class). With enrollment in Early Start Guitar, families pay reduced fees for one Children’s Dance class, and reduced fees for other ensembles. (Fees are as of Summer 2024.)
