Summer Ballet Explorations

Vanessa Watters & Sarah Jacobs, Instructors

Our Mini-Dancers, Pre-Ballet, and Ballet I participants will explore some of the great ballet works of all time, including The Sleeping Beauty, The Nutcracker, Cinderella, The Firebird, Carnival of the Animals, and A Midsummer Night’s Dream! Each week will spotlight a different story and music, with the opportunity for students to dance to the music as well as engage in fun activities like picture-drawing or coloring scenes from the ballet. Dancers will explore their creativity while learning about these beautiful stories and the ballets that inspired them.

Please Note: These classes are still the regular Mini, Pre-Ballet, and Ballet 1 Wednesday class times (please see below) only enhanced with the these exciting themes! ...

Week II – Cinderella (music by Strauss, Prokofiev)

Week III – The Nutcracker (music by Tchaikovsky)

Week IV – The Sleeping Beauty (music by Tchaikovsky)
A princess and her kingdom go to sleep for a hundred years, and then everyone wakes up for a big celebration…

Week V – The Firebird (music by Stravinsky)
