Hochstein5K

Join, Run/Walk, or Donate!

Support our Hochstein5K team at ROCtoberfest on Saturday, October 20, 2018!

Register to Run/Walk: http://yellowjacketracing.com/races/roctoberfest

Donate or Join our Fundraising Team: https://www.crowdrise.com/o/en/campaign/hochstein-5k

This year the run/walk will be at Genesee Valley Park starting at 10:00 am followed by a festival lasting until 1:00 pm. If you can't make it to the run/walk, please join us at the park. We will have a special tent for Hochstein and there will be post-race food, a beer garden, live music, and more! (ROCtoberfest ticket required for event entry.)

If you donate or raise $100 or more for the Hochstein5K team, you can choose a short-sleeve t-shirt on the Hochstein apparel site for FREE. This includes Hochstein, HYSO, Dance, or Youth Singers! Donations or fundraising of $250 or more gets you a Hochstein hoodie!

Almost 100 years ago, our community rallied around the desire to build a community music school that would provide educational opportunities for everyone no matter their age, ability, or socioeconomic status. Today, The Hochstein School welcomes more than 3,500 people of all ages for music, dance, and therapeutic arts opportunities each year.

If you are unfamiliar with Hochstein, the core of our mission is to offer tuition assistance for those in need -- providing equal access to our community.  During the 2017-2018 school year, Hochstein awarded $312,266 in need-based assistance to almost half of our students. This is an increase of more than $40,000 compared to previous years. Help us to continue to grow this vital program for 2018-2019!

We would like to invite you to join Hochstein in fulfilling its mission. By supporting Hochstein, you create opportunities for…

  • a preschooler from an inner-city neighborhood, so he can come to Hochstein and learn not only about music and dance, but also how to work with others in a supportive environment;

  • an adult with autism to have access to our music lab and learn new ways to communicate;

  • a senior citizen with Alzheimer’s to hold on to fond memories and experience joy through song;

  • music and dance students with great potential from families with limited resources to have the chance to develop and excel in the arts and throughout their education.

By supporting our Hochstein5K effort, you are building a vibrant and inclusive arts community within Rochester.

Please note the location change from previous years - we are now doing this at Genesee Valley Park with FleetFeet/YellowJacket Racing; the Eastman Museum is no longer hosting the event.
