From the Director

Welcome to Summer at Hochstein and the wonderful array of offerings we have in store for you! Our summer program provides an ideal time to try something new or to keep those skills fresh for fall!

Use the sidebar menu to navigate through the summer offerings, which include Arts in Action camps for children 4-10, plus a mini-camp for younger children. There are a number of topic-specific music camps and workshops, including new classes in recorder, autoharp, and mandolin, plus the return of harmonica. A new Broadway camp for grades 8-12 focuses on singing and group dance numbers. The summer dance program now includes a children’s pre-jazz class and tap skill drills, as well as the ongoing classes in ballet, Latin dance, hip hop, African dance, and more. And of course, Suzuki Strings, Music FUNdamentals for younger children, individual instruction, and lessons in jazz and songwriting.

There’s something for everyone at Hochstein—and we can’t wait to share it with you!

About the Summer Cover Art

This summer’s catalog cover is illustrated by Dave Chisholm, a trumpet player, songwriter, composer, bandleader, educator, visual artist, and the Director of the Music Lab at Hochstein, which focuses on technology-based music education. Chisholm directs the Hochstein Rock Ensembles and Rock Camp along with teaching trumpet, rock/pop songwriting, improvisation, and composition. We are so fortunate to have Dave at Hochstein and thank him for his wonderful cover art.
