Oct. 28-Nov. 18, 2017: GarageBand 101
Have you ever wanted to make your own music? Produce your own hip-hop beat? Add a soundtrack to a video? Whether you want to record a song you wrote or just goof around with music, now is your chance. Join Dave Chisholm in the Hochstein's Music Lab for a four-week crash course in the Apple App Garageband.
Jan. 13-Feb. 3, 2018: Music Theory for Parents/Adults
Have you ever heard a piece of music and been moved emotionally? Of course you have. Can you explain why? This class offers a nuts-and-bolts approach to music listening that involves the basics of music concepts such as tempo, meter, melody, and harmony. Let Dave Chisholm help demystify music for you and increase your understanding of this beautiful language.

Whether you want to record your child for an audition or for pedagogical purposes or you want to record a song in your heart, this class is for you. Join Dave Chisholm in the Hochstein’s Music Lab for a 4-week survey of recording and mixing techniques. Topics include: digital-analog interfaces, microphone selection and placement, and mixing techniques. Students will get ample hands-on time to record as a group.
FEE: $60 tuition per 4-week session. For students enrolled in individual lessons at Hochstein, tuition is $44 per session. For parents of Hochstein students, reduced tuition is only $20 per session. (Fees are as of Fall 2017.)
