This class introduces students to the basics of the Russian (Vaganova) Ballet Technique through barre work and preparation for pirouettes, adagios, and allegro movements. Also covered are the basics of ballet vocabulary and technique. Great for developing flexibility, strength, coordination, musicality, and grace.
Dance Fees: $10 registration fee; $576* yearly tuition, payable in quarterly installments of $144. For students enrolled in individual lessons at Hochstein, yearly tuition is $432 payable in quarterly installments of $108. (Fees are as of Fall 2017.)
Dance attire for these two classes:
- Female: pink tights, solid colored leotard, hair pulled back (long hair in bun), ballet slippers. No footless tights, no leotard with skirts and no excessive jewelry
- Male: black footed tights, solid light or white t-shirt, ballet shoes
- Adults: dance skirt permitted
