More About Leah Kettelkamp

Hometown: Great Falls, Montana

What inspires me: I always find myself inspired by new ideas that I learn from working with students, and I feel very fortunate to be part of the process of guiding students to find their voice through music. I am also inspired by spending time outside, whether it be hiking, wandering in the woods, or exploring a new place. And of course I love to listen to all kinds of good music for inspiration!

Why the arts matter: The arts spark our imagination and ingenuity and allow us to create our own magic in the world.

Favorite things to do in Rochester area: Explore outside, run in Highland Park, visit the Strong Museum of Play with my kids, practice yoga in one of our lovely local studios, and enjoy one of the many delicious restaurants in the area!

When I’m not at Hochstein, you can find me: Teaching orchestra classes in Brighton, playing with my kids, practicing music, or reading a book.

Favorite places to travel: I grew up in the west and love to travel back to Montana when I get the chance. I love to travel and have a long bucket list of all of the places I want to go.
