Instrument/Department: Music FUNdamentals; Director, Arts In Action Summer Camp
Lisa Salvaggio-Clark holds a Bachelors degree in Music Education from Nazareth College of Rochester, an associates degree in the science of music from Finger Lakes Community College and is currently working in the Masters Program for Curriculum Design at the University at Albany.
Lisa currently teaches 5th-8th grade general music and chorus for Uncommon Schools at Rochester Prep Charter School. Prior to heading the music department at Rochester Prep, Lisa taught general music and chorus at Eugenio Maria de Hostos Charter school for four years.
Lisa has been actively performing throughout the community for many years as the lead singer for bands such as “Fire in the Hole,” “The Scandals,” and currently for the “Peace n Blues Duo.” In 2009, Lisa was awarded first place in the Nazareth College Concerto/Aria contest and performed solo accompanied by the Nazareth College Orchestra at the Callahan Chapel.
Lisa is a creative and energetic teacher who is passionate about infusing music into the lives of her students and anyone around her! Lisa is no stranger to Hochstein as she started as an intern many years ago in the Arts in Action Program, taught music and movement for the program years later and now greatly enjoys her time as the Director of the program. The Arts in Action program is the highlight of her Summer!
