Hochstein Music Theory Faculty - Lauren Irschick

Department: Music Theory

Joined Hochstein Faculty in: 2021 (not currently teaching at Hochstein)

Lauren holds a B.Mus. in music theory with a concentration in viola from McGill University and an M.A. in music theory from the Eastman School of Music. She is currently in the fourth year of her Ph.D. at Eastman.

She has taught theory and aural skills at Eastman and at the Eastman Community Music School, and writing, speaking, and argument at the University of Rochester. In 2020, Lauren was awarded the Eastman Teaching Assistant Prize for Excellence in Teaching. 

As a violist, Lauren has performed with various ensembles in Rochester, Montréal, Toronto, and Vancouver, including the Eastman Collegium Musicum, the Tafelmusik Baroque Summer Institute, Orchestre de l’Agora, and the McGill Symphony Orchestra.
