Kristina Jewell graduated from Nazareth College of Rochester in 2016 with a Bachelor of Music degree in Music Therapy with a minor in Psychology. Jewell completed her music therapy internship at Mary Cariola Children’s Center in June 2017 and joined Hochstein's Expressive Arts Department as a music therapist in July 2017.
Jewell has provided music therapy services to a variety of populations including children and adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Down syndrome, medically fragile clients, individuals suffering from Alzheimer’s and Dementia, and clients who are post stroke and suffering from speech delays such as aphasia and apraxia and gross motor/fine motor skill loss.
Jewell has worked in various settings including schools, day programs, nursing homes, residential homes, and a brain injury clinic. She believes in the true healing power of music and strives to help others realize the incredible experiences that music can provide. She is honored to be a part of such a great team at The Hochstein School.

What inspires me: My family and friends inspire me to be the best version of myself that I can possibly be, and to help others do the same.
Why the arts matter: The arts matter because they are a way to express feelings and thoughts in a new way. They give a new way to communicate with those around us and share in experiences that can truly change lives.
Favorite things to do in Rochester area: Going to new restaurants, going fishing on the lake, performing at different venues, etc.
When I’m not at Hochstein, you can find me: At home watching movies/reading or out with friends and family doing activities such as bowling, going to musicals or concerts, fishing (during the summer), etc.
My favorite local restaurant: East Ridge Family Diner
Favorite place(s) to travel: Florida! (DISNEY WORLD)
Favorite movie series: Harry Potter
What people would be surprised to know about me: That I danced for 13 years.
