Brief Description

The Hochstein School’s Expressive Arts Department encompasses music, art and dance movement therapy; adaptive lesson instruction; and arts-based wellness/enrichment programming. We offer empowering and enriching individual and group sessions. Most of our individual sessions take place at Hochstein and run between 30-60 min whereas most of our groups take place out in the community (at group homes, residences, long-term care facilities, and day habilitation programs) and usually run for 60 min. These groups typically meet weekly or bi-monthly, though some meet twice weekly.

 

Qualifications

All applicants should have:

  • An interest in working with individuals/groups of all ages/abilities, particularly adults with I/DD
  • A desire to work collaboratively as part of a team (with faculty, caregivers, and service providers)
  • Passion for community music therapy and person-centered care
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Afternoon/evening availability
  • Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license
  • MT-BC credential (within 6 mos of hire date)

Part-time hours: 2-5 hrs/wk (after 3:00 pm, primarily Wed/Thurs) with room to grow

Hourly compensation commensurate with experience
