Joined Hochstein Faculty in: 2005
Cellist Sandra Halleran is an active freelance musician and cello teacher in the Rochester area. She has been a member of the Hochstein cello faculty since 2005, where she teaches Suzuki and traditional private lessons, Suzuki group classes, and chamber music. In addition, she teaches students of all ages and levels at Our Lady of Mercy School for Young Women and in her own private studio.
She is also a performing member of the Cayuga Chamber Orchestra, Rochester Oratorio Society, and Rochester Lyric Opera, and directs the freelance chamber group The Marini String Ensemble. She is also the founder and artistic director of the Rochester Cello Society. Halleran received her master’s degree from the Eastman School of Music and her bachelor’s degree from Rice University.

When I'm not at Hochstein, you can find me: In my garden, renovating my 1920s house, cooking, reading, tending my large fresh water aquarium, and playing with Felix and Ruby, my two cats.
