A resident ensemble of the Gateways Music Festival, the Gateways Brass Collective has presented dynamic performances and inspirational educational programs since 2018. This program, Scenes and Snapshots (Music for Brass that Moves You), features music by David Wilborn, George Walker, Herbert Smith, and Astor Piazzolla.
Gateways’ mission is to support and connect professional classical musicians of African descent and enlighten and inspire communities through the power of performance. The quintet has been featured at music festivals across the US and its members are equally fluent in classical, jazz, and contemporary music.
The Hochstein School’s free noontime Live from Hochstein concert series will be hosted by WXXI Classical’s Mona Seghatoleslami and broadcast live. Listen to the concert on WXXI Classical at 91.5 FM, 90.3 FM, or online at https://www.wxxiclassical.org. Listen to an encore broadcast on WXXI Classical 91.5 FM at 10:00 pm the day of the concert.
