Looking for a way to include music in your homeschool curriculum? Homeschool Strings provides a fun and engaging learning experience with beginning group classes that are designed for a mix of ages and types of string instruments.
In this class, students with no previous experience can choose to learn the violin, viola, or cello with the aid of a professionally trained instructor who will guide each student to choose the best instrument "fit" for them. Once the instrument has been chosen, students will learn how to play by ear and read music - culminating in a winter and spring performance.
With regular class attendance, home practicing, and performing in concerts, families will be able to record 108+ hours towards their Individualized Home Instruction Plans (IHIP)** and students will gain the strategies and aural skills used to become musically literate while interacting with peers in a safe and friendly musical environment.
After the first year, students may continue with a more advanced string class which can lead to participation in Hochstein’s orchestras and chamber music programs.
Private lessons are available upon request but are not required to participate in the class.
