In this fun and non-intimidating jazz movement class, adults will be introduced to various types of jazz dance including authentic jazz (jazz and social dance movement developed from the 1920s-1940s), classic jazz (technique influenced by ballet and modern dance forms), and commercial jazz (bringing some sass and swagger into the class!).
The class begins with a warm-up based on the technique of the legendary jazz icon “Luigi” who was the innovator of the world’s first jazz dance technique. His belief was to “take your time – feel what you’re doing” and to “feel from the inside out.“ You can too!
Dance attire for this class:

Footless or convertible tights or pants or shorts

Solid colored leotard or solid colored t-shirt

NO street shoes on the marley floor

Fee: $10 registration fee, $162 per 9-week sesson. For students enrolled in individual lessons at Hochstein, the reduced tuition is $126 per session.
Full year tuition is $648 payable in quarterly installments of $162 per 9-week session. For students enrolled in individual lessons at Hochstein, reduced tuition is $504, payable in quarterly installments of $126. (Fees are as of Fall 2022.)
