The Rochester Fringe Festival runs September 10-21 and this year, Hochstein is a venue for the very first time, with BIODANCE and Cordancia Chamber Orchestra performing “Carnival of the Animals” and other works. Hochstein faculty members are also taking part in other events during Fringe.

Summer Arts in Action camp includes visit from therapy dogs
The second week of Hochstein’s weeklong Arts in Action Summer Camps took children ages 5-10 on a journey filled with music, art, movement – and sports, too, with the theme of “Play Ball.” Campers also had a special visit from two RocDogs therapy dogs.

Summer is in full swing!
Summer is in full swing here at Hochstein, and we have quite the happy campers! The first week of summer camps included Arts in Action, with daily music, art, and movement classes for kids ages 5-10; Comics & Manga Workshop, for teenagers interested in exploring how comic books are made; and the debut of Musical Leadership through Basic Conducting, where students learned about what it means to be a leader, both on and off the podium.

Hochstein students earn Merit Scholarships, Honors Certificates, and perform at Honors Convocation
Fifteen Hochstein students in grades 5 to 12 will be recognized at Hochstein’s Honors Convocation on Friday, May 31 at 7:00 pm, representing two of The Hochstein School’s programs for the most advanced students: the winners of Merit Scholarships and candidates for completion of the Honors Certificate Program. Students also will perform solos during the Honors Convocation.
