Itching to try improvisation? Join Natalie in this 6-week adventure and go from first-time improviser to relaxed, confident collaborator. Natalie will identify several basic building blocks of improvisation and guide you through easy examples of how to practice and strengthen each one.
Weeks 1-4 include helpful content on improving your listening skills, jam basics, deciphering chord charts, serving multiple “roles” in a band, adapting to alternative styles, expanding your musical vocabulary, crafting a solo start to finish, and more!
Weeks 5-6 tackle a couple of intermediate improv topics and leave room for a quick dive into individual genre and song requests. You’ll leave with ample tools for practice and personalized feedback to keep you improving FAST!
FEE: $10 registration fee; $102* tuition. $78 if enrolled in individual lessons at Hochstein. (Fees are as of Winter 2021.)
