An encore performance from November 2019, featuring violinist David Brickman and pianist Diane Walsh. They perform two works by Claude Debussy – Sonata in G Minor and Beau Soir – and Brahms’ Sonata No. 3 in D Minor.

Former Principal Second Violinist of the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra, David Brickman trained at the Eastman School of Music and is a member of the Amenda Quartet. He will be joined by award-winning Steinway artist Diane Walsh, who has given solo and chamber music concerts in major venues in the United States, Canada, South America, Europe, Russia, China, and New Zealand.

The Hochstein School’s lunchtime Live from Hochstein concert series will be broadcast on WXXI Classical 91.5/90.3 FM and hosted by WXXI Classical 91.5’s Mona Seghatoleslami.

Live from Hochstein – fivebyfive with Emily Pinkerton
Event summary
An encore performance from May 2019 featuring the quintet fivebyfive with Emily Pinkerton on banjo and vocals, broadcast on WXXI Classical 91.5/90.3 FM.
Event details

An encore performance from May 2019, this concert includes “Rounder Songs” by Emily Pinkerton and Patrick Burke, with Emily as guest on banjo and vocals, and a work written for the quintet by Glenn McClure, inspired by recent research on Hawaiian volcanoes. Formed in 2015, the quintet fivebyfive focuses on engaging audiences in the collaborative spirit and creativity of modern chamber music and features Laura Lentz, flute; Marcy Bacon, clarinet; Sungmin Shin, electric guitar; Eric Polenik, bass; and Haeyeun Jeun, piano.
