Opening a Window…

One warm spring afternoon sometime around 1906, Rochester arts patron Emily Sibley Watson heard a young David Hochstein practicing violin through an open window at her neighbor’s home. She became his benefactor, ensuring that he received the finest training available. This is the genesis of what would later become the Hochstein School of Music & Dance as we know it – providing people of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities with access to excellent music and dance education in a community that nurtures and encourages personal achievement.

Join us on April 21 as we raise funds for Hochstein’s need-based scholarship program and continue opening new “windows” for those who come to Hochstein today.
