Live from Hochstein – Women in Music Festival: In the Company of Women

Members of the Nazareth University music faculty celebrate the artistry of women composers during the third Women in Music Festival

The program includes In the First, Spinning Place, a saxophone concerto by Hilary Tann which was inspired by a poem by the Welsh poet Dylan Thomas; works by French composer Cécile Chaminade, one of the leading female composers of the late 19th and early 20th centuries; and two songs by contemporary American composer Lori Laitman, composer-in-residence for the festival.

This concert is part of the Women in Music Festival at Nazareth University and Buffalo State University. The festival includes concerts and panel discussions, all of which serve as a catalyst for purposeful dialogue, future collaborations, and engaging performances for our community.  
 

The Hochstein School’s free noontime Live from Hochstein concert series will be hosted by WXXI Classical’s Mona Seghatoleslami and broadcast live. Listen to the concert on WXXI Classical at 91.5 FM, 90.3 FM, or online at https://www.wxxiclassical.org. Listen to an encore broadcast on WXXI Classical 91.5 FM at 10:00 pm the day of the concert.

Please note that only bottled water is allowed in the newly renovated hall. PLEASE do not attend any activity at Hochstein if you are not feeling 100% healthy.
