Event details

The Salaff Quartet performs a concert showcasing pieces that give us the impression of lights. Sunlight breaking through the dark clouds, stars and moon shining in the night. The program includes selections by Mozart, Beethoven, Debussy, Dvořák, and Sjölin.

The Salaff String Quartet was founded in 2014 by four members of the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra who all attended the Cleveland Institute of Music at different times but all studied chamber music with the same beloved teacher, Peter Salaff, for whom the quartet is named. As friends and young members in the orchestra, they enjoy performing together throughout the Rochester area.

The Hochstein School’s free noontime Live from Hochstein concert series will be hosted by WXXI Classical’s Mona Seghatoleslami and broadcast live on WXXI Classical. Listen to the concert at WXXI-FM 91.5, WXXY 90.3, or online at https://www.classical915.org.

* Masks and vaccination are encouraged but not required. Please note that only bottled water is allowed in the newly renovated hall.

Sidney and Barbara Sobel have generously provided continuous underwriting of the Live from Hochstein Broadcast & Concert Series since 1993.
