HochStrings Winter Concert: "Folk, Fiddling, and Birds"

Event summary
The HochStrings Adult Chamber Orchestra, directed by Pia Liptak, performs a free concert of string music. (Note that the date has changed.)
Event details

The program includes music of Florence Price – “Ticklin’ Toes,” “The Old Boatman,” and the second of her “Folk Songs in Counterpoint,” based on the folk song “Clementine” – as well as two movements of Haydn’s “Bird Quartet” and the popular bluegrass fiddle tune “Orange Blossom Special,” with train sound effects. The concert will also include the old Ukrainian folk song "Verbovaya Doschechka" ("The Willow-wood Plank").
