Musicians in Hochstein’s Philharmonia Orchestra (grades 6-11, directed by John Fetter and Matt Osika), Sinfonia Strings (grades 4-9, directed by John Fetter), and Concertino Strings (grades 1-5, directed by Marcos Kreutzer), give a free joint concert.

Concertino Strings plays an arrangement of the German folk song “The Cuckoo,” “Stick Horse Parade” by Walter J. Halen, and “Fiddling A-Round” by John Caponegro.

Hochstein Sinfonia Strings performs selections from Don Quixote Suite by the German Baroque composer Georg Philipp Telemann, the beautiful “Lullaby” by William Hoefeldt, and the catchy tune “Apple Seed in My Banana” by Lauren Bernovsky.

Finally, the Hochstein Philharmonia Orchestra plays the dramatic “March to the Scaffold” movement from Hector Berlioz’s Symphonie Fantastique; Frederick Delius’s Walk to the Paradise Garden; and the fourth movement from Ludwig van Beethoven’s Symphony No. 5. Philharmonia will also perform Orchestral Folk Song Suite, a new work by Hochstein faculty member Matt Osika as part of the Young Composers’ Collaboration Project.
