Event summary
Featuring Boel Gidholm and Molly Werts MacDonald, violins; Christopher Haritatos, cello; and Deborah Fox, theorbo.
Event details

This concert features music for baroque ensemble, performed on period instruments, modeled on the way they would have been in the baroque era, including gut strings. Music by familiar composers Purcell, Corelli, and Vivaldi, will mix with music by lesser-known but no less compelling composers Evaristo Dall’Abaco and Dario Castello.

Audiences can expect to hear the melodious interplay of the two violins, with the cello providing a strong foundation, and the theorbo – a long-necked lute of the baroque era –playing bass and providing harmonies and accompaniment, much like the harpsichord.
