Live from Hochstein – Madrigalia: A Physically Distanced Cup of Good Cheer
Event summary
Our annual celebration of the holiday season with the choral chamber ensemble Madrigalia, Cary Ratcliff, artistic director. Please note that this will be an encore broadcast from the archives.
Event details

Please Note: Due to the increased rate of COVID-19 cases in the Rochester area, WXXI and Hochstein are taking strict precautionary measures to ensure the safety of our Live from Hochstein hosts, production staff, and collaborators. As a result, WXXI Classical will not broadcast Madrigalia's annual Cup of Good Cheer program live from The Hochstein School on December 2. Instead, they will encore a Madrigalia concert from the archives.

Under the direction of Cary Ratcliff, the chorus has released two CD recordings: For Better, For Worse: Music About Marriage, and On This Day Earth Shall Ring. The chorus also contributed to the recording of Ratcliff’s large-scale opera Eleni.

The Hochstein School’s lunchtime Live from Hochstein concert series will be broadcast live on WXXI Classical 91.5/90.3 FM and hosted by WXXI Classical 91.5’s Mona Seghatoleslami.

Listen to the concert online at https://www.classical915.org/.

Sidney and Barbara Sobel have provided continuous underwriting of the Live from Hochstein Broadcast & Concert Series since 1993. Live from Hochstein is also made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature.
