Hochstein’s Philharmonia Orchestra (grades 6-11) is directed by John Fetter and Matt Osika, Sinfonia Strings (grades 4-9) is directed by John Fetter and Terry Smith, and Concertino Strings (grades 1-5) is directed by Marcos Kreutzer.
Concertino Strings performs “American Patrol” by F.W. Meacham, “Step Ladder” by Robert S. Frost, and Rossini’s “William Tell Overture.”
Then Hochstein Sinfonia Strings performs the first movement of Beethoven’s Symphony No. 6, “Love Brings Change - Adagio for Strings” by Australian composer and educator Margaret S. Brandman, and “Danse Negre” from “African Suite” by Samuel Coleridge-Taylor.
Finally, the Hochstein Philharmonia Orchestra plays “Handel in the Strand (Clog Dance)” by Percy Grainger; “Portraits of the Past” by Matt Osika, as part of this year’s Young Composers’ Collaboration Project; and two movements from Stravinsky’s “The Firebird Suite.”
