Maryellen Giese and Jonathan Thomas Madden direct Hochstein Singers and Youth Singers. Shana Kohler directs Hochstein Little Singers.
The program includes the premiere of “Songs for the People,” written by Jonathan Thomas Madden and set to a poem by Frances Ellen Watkins Harper, one of the best-known Black poets of the 19th century.
You’ll also hear songs by John Rutter, Michael Praetorius, César Franck, and Schubert; selections from “Camelot” and “Man of La Mancha;” and “God Bless America” by Irving Berlin, performed by the combined ensembles.
