Historical violinist and Hochstein alum Epongue Ekille returns to Rochester with a program featuring music drawn from the Suzuki Violin Method, but played how they might have been performed when they were first written, complete with historic instruments. Selections include pieces by Handel, Bach, Corelli, and more. Joining her are violinist Ela Kodžas; baroque cellist Allen Maracle, another Hochstein alum; and Bonnie Choi on harpsichord.

Epongue Ekille is a historical and modern violinist based in New York City. She enjoys a versatile career having performed at the Carmel Bach Festival, on the Broadway revival of Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street, and with ensembles such as Juilliard415, the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra, and Bach Vespers Holy Trinity. Epongue holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Environmental Management and Justice from Yale College and Yale School of the Environment.
Historical violinist Ela Kodžas enjoys a dynamic career as a collaborator and performer across the United States. She is an alumna of UCLA and the Eastman School of Music and currently resides in New York City, where she is pursuing a Master of Music in baroque violin performance at The Juilliard School. She has performed with Musica Angelica Baroque Orchestra, Publick Musick, American Bach Soloists Academy, and Juilliard415.
Allen Maracle is a baroque cellist and music educator currently based in New York City. He completed his undergraduate studies at SUNY Fredonia, where he earned bachelor of music degrees in music education and cello performance, and has a master of music degree in historical performance from Boston University. He is currently studying for a graduate diploma in historical performance at The Juilliard School. He performs community outreach concerts around New York City with the Allez trio, playing works of the baroque and early classical eras on period instruments.
Harpsichordist and pianist Bonnie Choi frequently performs in New York State and Asia. She is also an accomplished educator and presenter, currently teaching at Nazareth University. She is the founder and harpsichordist of Air de Cour and Tormenta d’Amore. She has given presentations at national and international conferences, such as Music Teachers National Association, and has conducted masterclasses and lectures in the U.S., Vietnam, China, and Hong Kong.
