The program includes Mikhail Glinka’s Ruslan and Lyudmila Overture; Samuel Coleridge-Taylor’s Danse Negre, No. 4; Wedding-Day at Troldhaugen by Edvard Grieg; Antonín Dvořák’s Slavonic Dances, No. 1; Romanian Folk Dances by Béla Bartók; and “Hoe Down” from Aaron Copland’s Rodeo.

The Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra (RPO) has been committed to enriching and inspiring our community through the art of music since its origins in 1922. The RPO presents approximately 150 concerts and broadcasts a year, serving up to 170,000 people through ticketed events, education and community engagement activities, and concerts in schools and community centers throughout the region. Andreas Delfs was named music director in 2021, following notable RPO music directors Erich Leinsdorf, David Zinman, Mark Elder, and Conductor Laureate Christopher Seaman. Principal Pops Conductor Jeff Tyzik, now in his 30th season, has earned a national reputation for excellence in pops programming during his tenure with the RPO. Jherrard Hardeman begins his first season with the RPO as Assistant Conductor (The Louise and Henry Epstein Family Education and Community Engagement Chair).
The Hochstein School’s free noontime Live from Hochstein concert series will be hosted by WXXI Classical’s Mona Seghatoleslami and broadcast live. Listen to the concert on WXXI Classical at 91.5 FM, 90.3 FM, or online at https://www.wxxiclassical.org. Listen to an encore broadcast on WXXI Classical 91.5 FM at 10:00 pm the day of the concert.
