In the first half, Sinfonia performs an arrangement of the folk tune Simple Gifts and Silva’s The Evil Eye and the Hideous Heart, inspired by Edgar Allen Poe’s The Tell-tale Heart. Then the Philharmonia takes the stage for the overture to Verdi’s opera Nabucco; Monti’s Czardas, inspired by a Hungarian folk dance; and the overture to Strauss’s operetta Die Fledermaus.
Free and open to the public.
