Hochstein Philharmonia & Sinfonia Joint Concert

Event summary
Musicians in the Hochstein Philharmonia Orchestra (grades 6-11) and Hochstein Sinfonia Strings (grades 4-9) orchestral ensembles give a joint fall concert.
Event details

This free concert is led by Director John Fetter with HPO Assistant Director Matt Osika and HSS Assistant Director Terry Smith.

The HSS opens the concert with “This is Halloween” from the animated film “The Nightmare Before Christmas" followed by Little Symphony for Strings by Reinecke, which contains four contrasting movements in the classical style.

The HPO’s half of the concert includes “Procession to the Sardar” from Ippolitov-Ivanov’s “Caucasian Sketches,” Respighi’s “Ancient Airs and Dances,” and von Suppé’s “Light Cavalry” Overture.
