fivebyfive: Fantastical Stories

A tapestry of music and story across the Americas with performances by fivebyfive and musicians from Society for New Music.

The program focuses on Latin American themes but also explores the profound connections and mutual understanding that our stories can create between us. 

fivebyfive is a Rochester, N.Y based chamber ensemble featuring flute, clarinet, electric guitar, bass, and piano. SNM provides opportunities for musicians in Central New York to showcase their talent while performing concerts that feature new compositions.  

Anchoring the “Fantastical Stories/Historias Fantásticas" program is the world premiere of a new NYSCA-funded work by Roberto Sierra of Ithaca, NY. Other music presented will include works by Clarice Assad, Miguel del Aguila, Gabriela Lena Frank, inti figgis-vizueta, and Angélica Negrón. Intertwined with the musical pieces will be an original presentation by Rochester poet, Henry I Padrón-Morales. 

Pre-concert chat at 3:30 pm.

Tickets are $20/general, $40/family max, pay what you can.
