Event details

The program showcases pieces inspired by poetry, including selections from Schubert’s Death and the Maiden, and music from Denmark and the Shetland Islands as performed by the Danish String Quartet. The concert also includes a movement from Mozart’s String Quartet No. 19 in C Major, “Dissonance.”

The Salaff String Quartet was founded in 2014 by four members of the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra who attended the Cleveland Institute of Music at different times but all studied chamber music with the same beloved teacher, Peter Salaff, for whom the quartet is named. As friends and young members in the orchestra, they enjoy performing together throughout the Rochester area.
