Sinfonia & Concertino Strings Concert (w/livestream)

Event summary
Musicians in Hochstein’s Sinfonia (grades 4-9, directed by John Fetter and Terry Smith), and Concertino Strings (grades 1-5, directed by Marcos Kreutzer) orchestral ensembles give a free joint afternoon concert.
Event details

Hochstein Concertino Strings will perform “El Sombrero,” a piece by Robert S. Frost with a south of the border flair; Michael Hopkins’ arrangement of the traditional Welsh folk song “Ash Grove;” and “Moonlight Tango” by Richard Meyer with its lively dance-like character.

Then Hochstein Sinfonia Strings performs Short Overture for Strings by the German-born American pianist, composer, and music educator Jean Berger and the fresh and energetic composition “American Reel” by Kirt Mosier, which blends the sounds of Ireland with sounds of America.

The Seventh String Quartet, coached by Jessica Tuttobene, will perform before the concert starts, at approximately 1:35 pm.
