Hochstein Youth Symphony Orchestra Spring Concert

The Hochstein Youth Symphony Orchestra, directed by Casey Springstead, performs their spring concert.
Event details

The program includes Rossini’s Overture to William Tell; Gould’s American Salute; “Starburst” by Leonard Bernstein Award and Sphinx Medal of Excellence winner Jessie Montgomery; and Bernstein’s Suite from On the Waterfront. HYSO Conductor Apprentice Annaliese White conducts Johann Strauss Jr.’s “Thunder and Lightning” Polka, Op. 324.

HYSO Concerto Competition winner Julian Chumacero performs the first movement from Grieg’s Piano Concerto in A minor. Chumacero was selected, along with Elizabeth Runion, as one of two winners of the HYSO Concerto Competition after a very competitive round of auditions in November. A junior at Victor Senior High School, Chumacero studies both piano and violin and is concertmaster of the Hochstein Youth Symphony Orchestra.
