Hochstein Singers and Youth Singers, directed by Maryellen Giese and Jonathan Thomas Madden, perform a seasonal program including festive songs like “Little Saint Nick” and “Jingle Bell Rock,” Irish and Spanish folk songs, Bach’s “Bist du bei mir,” as well as a song by Meghan Trainor for the soundtrack to the film The Peanuts Movie.
The Hochstein Little Singers, directed by Shana Kohler, explore music about winter, snow, stars, and the moon.
At the end of the concert, the Youth Singers are joined by parents, friends, Hochstein faculty, and members of the Rochester Oratorio Society for the “Hallelujah Chorus” from Handel’s Messiah. There is also one song with special guests from the Submarine School of Music.
