This special concert to celebrate Hochstein’s 100th anniversary features the Hochstein Youth Symphony Orchestra, directed by Casey Springstead, along with the Hochstein Youth Singers, directed by Maryellen Giese, and the Callisto Trio.

Part of Hochstein's Centennial Celebration!

The HYSO is a full orchestra for advanced strings, brass, woodwinds, and percussion students in grades 7–12 from the greater Rochester region. The HYSO presents three concerts per year along with periodic international tours including a 2016 tour of Austria and Germany, a 2018 tour of Portugal and Spain, and the April 2020 tour of Germany and the Czech Republic.

Hochstein Youth Singers is an energetic chorus made up of motivated and dedicated young musicians. Youth Singers perform diverse treble choral repertoire in multiple languages and styles. 

In 2016, the Callisto Trio became the youngest ensemble ever to medal in the Senior Division of the Fischoff National Chamber Music Competition. Hochstein alumna Annie Jacobs-Perkins, on cello, is joined by Geneva Lewis, violin, and Katelyn Vahala, piano. They are currently based in Los Angeles.
