Frederick Douglass Family Initiatives (FDFI) welcomes award-winning author, and Founding Director of American University's Antiracist Research & Policy Center, Ibram X. Kendi to Rochester. Dr. Kendi will present his best-selling new book, How to Be an Antiracist, at what promises to be an extraordinary evening in the historic Hochstein Performance Hall.
Nettie Washington Douglass and Kenneth B. Morris, Jr., Co-Founders of FDFI and direct descendants of both Frederick Douglass and Booker T. Washington, will be in attendance. Following Dr. Kendi's remarks, a panel of local leaders will discuss how Rochester, known for its high levels of disparity, can go about achieving racial equity. Participating in the panel will be students from East High School.
Doors open at 6:00 pm. Tickets are $25 general admission. For tickets, visit https://www.eventbrite.com/e/ibram-x-kendi-how-to-be-an-antiracist-tickets-72319851623. VIP tickets at $100, which include a meet and greet reception at 5:30 pm, will be available in the near future.
