The program includes Bizet’s Carmen, Ravel’s Pavane pour une infante défunte, Shostakovich’s Festive Overture, Russell Scarbrough’s Solaces, and Rimsky-Korsakov’s Capriccio Espagnol.
The concert also features HYSO Concerto Competition Winner Raymond Feng performing the first movement from Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2 in C minor and HYSO Concerto Competition Winner Grace Taylor performing the first movement of Jacob’s Concerto for Horn and Strings. HYSO Conductor Apprentices Nicholas Kinney and Nicole Page conduct the orchestra in two selections.
Tickets are $5 general admission at the door.
