Sinfonia performs selections from “Abdelazer” by the 17th-century composer Henry Purcell – including one movement that was the theme for Benjamin Britten’s variations in “The Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra” and also appears in TV shows and movies. Richard Meyer’s “Acrobats” is a musical tour-de-force for string orchestra – a musical impression of a circus full of jugglers, gymnasts, and acrobats.
Concertino Strings performs Coronation March by Elliot A. del Borgo, Robert S. Frost's "El Sombrero," and Plunkin' Peter by Floyd Barnard.
This concert is free and open to the public.
