CMC Duo Program

For students in grades 6-12 and Adults who play at NYSSMA Level 3+ or the equivalent. Open to piano, strings, guitar, woodwinds, and brass.

Audition Requirements: Applicants will be asked to submit a short video of their playing to ensure best possible group placement.

Please note: Students will be asked to follow any COVID-19 safety guidelines that are in place by the time rehearsals begin.

Ensembles of two will learn the art of collaborative playing through duet repertoire. Duos will meet for weekly 45-minute coaching sessions scheduled at a time mutually agreeable for the students and the coach. Students may request placement with a specific duo partner or apply individually to be paired with another player of similar age and level. Duo ensembles are provided many performance opportunities throughout the year with masterclasses and concerts at Hochstein and in the community.

FEE: $10 registration fee; $828* yearly tuition payable in quarterly installments of $207 each. For students enrolled in individual lessons at Hochstein, yearly tuition is $684 payable in quarterly installments of $171. (Fees are as of Fall 2022.)
