Casey Springstead directs the Annual Fall Concert by the Hochstein Youth Symphony Orchestra (HYSO) on Sunday, November 9 at 3:00pm. Repertoire includes the music of Finzi, Tchaikovsky, Rossini, and Enescu and will feature Hochstein Faculty piano member, Doleen Hood. More than half of the almost 70 orchestra personnel are returning from last year and represent 27 different local schools.
The HYSO is a full orchestra (strings, brass, woodwinds, percussion) for advanced musicians that promotes musical experience through the study and performance of standard orchestral repertoire, contemporary works, small ensembles and student concerto performances. Season repertoire includes Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and contemporary music. The Hochstein Youth Symphony Orchestra completed a successful tour of Paris and Normandy, France in the Spring of 2014.
