Nancy Boone-Bahr has specialized on the baritone saxophone since she was twelve years old, eventually earning the Bachelor and Master of Music degrees in woodwinds and the Performers’ Certificate from the Eastman School of Music, where she studied with Ramon Ricker. Other saxophone instructors have included Andy Connell, Victor Morosco, Bill Trimble, and James Rotter. Ms. Boone-Bahr has received several awards, including the North American Saxophone Alliance Classical Competition in 1992 and the Eastman Wind Ensemble Concerto Competition in 1993. She has also appeared as a soloist with the Greater Rochester Music Educator’s Wind Band and the Kaunas Symphony Orchestra in Lithuania. Nancy has toured worldwide as a woodwind doubler for several Broadway productions and performs frequently with the Rochester, Buffalo, and Syracuse Symphonies. She has been member of the Hochstein faculty since 1993.
